A car vent air freshener is a small diffuser that clips onto the slats of a car’s ventilation grille. Airflow from the ventilation or air-conditioning system passes over the fragrance carrier and distributes the scent through the cabin. Compared with hanging cardboard fresheners, vent clips sit out of the driver’s line of sight to the road, deliver scent more evenly, and release more fragrance when the fan is running and less when it is off — which is why they outlast most hanging formats.
The vent formats found on the market are:
ELiX manufactures the first three, and develops formulations for customers who need a specific balance of intensity, duration and unit cost.

Vibez is our newest generation. It is made from a polymer using ELiX’s own innovative technology — it is not EVA. The colour is the colour of the material itself, not paint or print, so it does not rub off, chip or fade on the shelf. Shapes are sculpted in three dimensions, and we develop new ones with customers rather than selling from a mould catalogue.
Ringo is our EVA line — the established, cost-efficient standard the category was built on, produced to European quality and safety documentation.
A vent freshener is the only air care product the driver sees every single day. It sits at eye level, on the dashboard line, in a part of the cabin the owner chose the trim for. That makes shape, colour and finish commercial decisions, not cosmetic ones: a decorative vent clip is repurchased because the owner liked having it there, not only because the scent ran out.
Vibez figures are modelled in three dimensions rather than die-cut from sheet, so the object has depth, defined edges and a finished back — it reads as an ornament on the grille, not as a flat token. Typical directions we develop with customers include animals and nature motifs, symbols and emblems, brand mascots, sport and club crests, regional and tourist souvenirs, and seasonal figures for Christmas and gifting periods.
Because the colour is in the polymer itself, a decorative vent accessory keeps its appearance through handling, sunlight on the dashboard and months of use. Painted and printed decorations rub off at the clip and along raised edges — exactly where the customer’s fingers go. Colour direction is developed with you as part of the design brief.
Decorative shape and fragrance performance are linked: surface area, wall thickness and the depth of detail all change how a figure releases scent. We design around that, so a sculpted Vibez figure still declares 30 days on pack and typically performs up to 45. What we advise on during design:
Two routes, depending on how far you want to go:
White label — our existing format and formula, your label and packaging. Typical time to market: around two months.
Custom project — your own shape, exclusive fragrance and bespoke packaging. For Vibez, the minimum order quantity is 5,000 units per SKU. Custom tooling projects in other formats start at approximately 20,000 units.
How a custom shape is created:
Fragrance briefs work the other way round just as well: send us a reference scent or a description of your market, and our perfumers build an accord to match it.
For Vibez polymer fresheners, 5,000 units per SKU. Projects requiring new custom tooling in other formats start at approximately 20,000 units. White label orders using our existing formats can be smaller — ask us for the current threshold.
It depends on the technology. Vibez declares 30 days on pack and typically performs up to 45 days. EVA and gel formats vary with fragrance load and driving conditions. Membrane and wick clips are usually shorter and more intense.
Yes. We develop custom shapes with the customer and produce the tooling. There is no fixed shape catalogue — every Vibez design starts from a customer brief, including mascots, logo forms and licensed characters.
Not on Vibez. The colour is the colour of the polymer itself rather than paint or print, so handling, sunlight and daily use do not wear it away.
Yes, when the figure is engineered for it. Surface area and wall thickness affect fragrance release, so we balance the design against the declared duration during the manufacturability review.
Yes. Our in-house perfumers develop exclusive accords for customers, and the fragrance remains reserved for your programme.
Clip geometry is part of the design work. We assess grip across the slat profiles used in European, Asian and American vehicles, including round vents, and advise on the clip type for your target market.
Yes, all production takes place at our facility in Wrocław, Poland.
BRC GS, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and TÜV SÜD. Certificates and audit documentation are available to customers on request.
Yes. Our own-brand vent fresheners are available for wholesale distribution, and we supply retail chains, distributors and car care brands.
White label programmes typically reach market in about two months. Custom tooling projects take longer and depend on design complexity and approvals.
Tell us the format, the volume and the market you are selling into — and, if you have one, the shape you want on the grille. We will come back with a concrete proposal: formats, fragrance directions, design feasibility, lead times and pricing.
