ELiX is now ISO 22716 GMP certified. Our facility in Wrocław, Poland, holds a certificate for Good Manufacturing Practices covering the manufacturing and packaging of body perfumes, air fresheners and air perfumes, laundry care products and fragrance oils. It sits alongside our BRCGS Consumer Products certification, which remains our primary standard.

- What stays: BRCGS Consumer Products (Personal Care & Household), Higher Level, Grade AA, with no exclusions.
- Why now: many corporate supplier-approval procedures list ISO 22716 as a separate requirement.
- For buyers: either certificate can now go into your supplier file, audit or questionnaire.
What we said in August, and still stand by
In August we published BRCGS Consumer Products (Personal Care & Household) vs ISO 22716 (GMP). In it we explained why we let our previous ISO 22716 certificate expire on 11 January 2026. BRCGS must cover the whole site, is audited to a higher level and can be checked in a public directory. A GMP certificate can cover a selected part of production. We removed a duplicate certificate, not a control.
That analysis still holds. BRCGS remains our primary certification, and GMP never stopped being part of how we work.
Why ELiX is ISO 22716 certified again
What changed is practical, not technical. Many corporate buyers qualify suppliers against a fixed checklist, and ISO 22716 is one line on it. When that line is empty, the supplier does not move to the next stage, whatever else it holds.
A procurement team should not have to work out whether one standard already includes another before a first conversation can start. So we took that question off the table. ELiX now holds both certificates.
What the new ISO 22716 certificate covers
The scope on the certificate reads:
“Manufacturing and packaging of body perfumes, air fresheners and air perfumes, laundry care products and fragrance oils.”
This is wider than our previous ISO 22716 certificate, which covered only the manufacture and storage of sprays and air fresheners. Body perfumes, laundry care products and fragrance oils are now within the GMP scope as well.

ISO 22716 and BRCGS: what each one checks
- ISO 22716 is the international guideline on Good Manufacturing Practices for cosmetics. It covers the production, control, storage and shipment of cosmetic products, and it is the harmonized GMP reference under EU Cosmetics Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009.
- BRCGS Consumer Products is a site-wide product safety, legality and quality standard built on HACCP-based risk assessment. Certified sites are listed in the public BRCGS Directory.
The two standards answer different questions. With both on file, a buyer can use whichever one their procedure names.
What this means for our customers
- Supplier approval: submit ISO 22716, BRCGS or both, whichever your procedure requires.
- All categories in scope: body perfumes, air fresheners and air perfumes, laundry care products and fragrance oils, from one European fragrance manufacturer.
- Your brand or ours: the scope applies to these product categories whether we make them under our own brands, such as ELiX, HIKARI and Amarella, or as private label for yours.
- No change in production: we applied GMP before. Now it is certified again.

Yes. PN-EN ISO 22716:2009 is the Polish national edition of EN ISO 22716:2007, which adopts the international standard ISO 22716:2007. The requirements are the same.
