THE CHALLENGE

A French fragrance and home care distributor needed to introduce a compliant, retail-ready air freshener range to a major French retail chain. The project required a supplier able to combine commercial competitiveness with full regulatory accuracy: French-language label content, correct CLP wording, SDS support and adaptation to local legal expectations.

The timeline was tight, the retail listing window was fixed, and there was no room for documentation errors. The buyer needed more than a product — they needed a partner who understood both European retail requirements and the paperwork behind a successful launch.

THE SOLUTION

The relationship began at PLMA Amsterdam, where the distributor first met Elix at our trade stand. After reviewing the market requirements, Elix proposed a tailored private label solution based on a proven car air freshener format, supported by a full label redesign, French-language adaptation and regulatory review.

From first contact to approved samples, the process took under 8 weeks. Elix coordinated product adaptation, artwork support, compliance verification and production planning to meet the retail chain’s listing deadline without delays.

Following the first successful launches in car air fresheners, the cooperation expanded into additional categories, including home air fresheners and laundry care products such as crease releaser. This step-by-step development allowed the client to grow from a single retail opportunity into a broader, more complete fragrance and home care offer.

RESULTS

The client successfully introduced the air freshener range to French retail shelves, meeting both the commercial brief and all legal requirements. The initial launch confirmed that Elix could deliver a market-ready product quickly, accurately and with full regulatory support.

The collaboration then developed beyond the original car air freshener project. New products were added to the portfolio, including home fragrance solutions and laundry care formats, helping the client build a stronger, more diversified offer for retail buyers.
